Easter Fun

Yuki put together Easter Baskets to deliver to some Shiba furiends.

Yuki loves the Easter Baskets she received. We have met many new wonderful friends thanks to Yuki.

Just like last year, we did another Easter Egg Hunt / scent work fun in the backyard. She had to correctly alert me to which egg contained a smelly treat, although all the smelly treats in the world don’t compare to zooming and messing up pinestraw. =)

Yuki’s first Barn Hunt experience - Instinct Fun Match. (To learn more about the event, check out this site: http://www.barnhunt.com/. No rats were hurt or stressed.) Since this was just for the experience and I’m a helicopter mom - we didn’t follow all the rules.

Yuki loves lure coursing but Barn Hunt didn’t seem like it was really for her. We had an awesome and fun time (and I’m quite proud of how well-behaved Yuki was), but since the rats were hidden out of sight in a tube and there wasn’t much movement, Yuki wasn’t really interested in finding them. She was more interested in checking out the hay and surroundings.

We loved meeting the trainer and owner of Pippin’s Canine Acadamy, Holly. She truly understood Queen Huffitude’s standoff-ish, independent nature and was extremely extremely patient and positive. Yuki had a very positive and fun time with Holly and at her facility and loves the place! Yuki is always eager to go there and see Holly (which is HUGE for Yuki). We look forward to starting agility classes there soon!

I’ve always loved Gemini Studio Art’s Shiba Inu art prints on Etsy. I was thrilled to find that the same artist offered a vintage style print for clothes and house accessories on Society6. I promptly bought the above t-shirt and a tank top. Time to buy more. =3

The Daily Life of a Huffy Yuki

Being a good Shiba at work with mommy.

Eating lunch on the picnic table behind the clinic with me. Yes, she loves to sit as high up as possible and knows to leave my food alone. No, she doesn’t sit on tables at home. =)

Playing with the boss’s super sweet Bulldog, Rumsfeld.

Window-surfing back home after a hard day of work. (Going super slow in our neighborhood.)

Digging in her sheepskin rug to get my attention while I’m busy on the computer.

Good calm Shiba noming on a moose antler.

Yuki hasn’t been feeling very well the past couple of days and hudad surprised her today with the Peeps bunny plushies I’ve been searching for. (Surprisingly elusive and out of stock at most Petsmarts.)

Also, check out a couple of the Doggy Easter Baskets I’ve been putting together (pink one is Yuki’s). They are still in progress and a couple of baskets aren’t in the picture.

Hope Yuki’s ready for another Easter egg hunt / nosework game this year.

Repurposed a glass coffee bottle (to bring homemade coffee to work) and etched it with 2 of my favorite things: Shibas and coffee.
